FLORENCIA CHAVES

Florencia grew up in Heredia, Costa Rica. With her grandmother and mother both couturiers, she’s been creating clothing and accessories ever since she can remember.

She lives in Paris; where she works as a designer of textile objects, accessories and leather goods, specializing in sustainable and circular design.

Florencia is also a fashion illustrator and her work has been featured in WWD.

She graduated Parsons The New School for Design in 2013, with a BFA in fashion design, and recently finished her specialized masters degree in Design, Technology and Sustainability at ENSCi Les Ateliers in Paris.

She’s passionate about art, design, fashion illustration and fashion history. Her other hobbies include discovering specialty coffee, birdwatching and hiking in the Costa Rican cloudy forest.
